The Legend of Chanzui
The Legend of Chanzui

I’m so glad you found this shrine! It honors Chanzui, a figure wrapped in mystery, myth, and story. Chanzui loved one thing above all: steamed bamboo dumplings. Every day, he carefully harvested bamboo and prepared his beloved delicacy. But one day, the bamboo vanished. Heartbroken, Chanzui vowed to protect the land and help it grow back. From that promise, he became the guardian spirit of the bamboo forest, watching over it for all who come after. As you stand here, may you feel his care for the land. I know I do. —Linda

Delving Deeply
Delving Deeply

IMHO we should talk more about the HUGE scars the Old World left on the planet. All for clout and cash until everything started collapsing. Classic humanity. Mining is one of the things we do differently around here. Less profit, more “let’s not destroy literally everything.” We also dig up stuff from Old Earth. Not only because they’re cool, but because forgetting what extraction cost us would be the real disaster. Memory’s basically the only thing stopping us from rerunning the same dumpster fire. No pressure, though. —Atlas

A Lost World
A Lost World

This cave has only just opened to the outside world, and it’s like swimming into a hidden universe! For generations, an entire ecosystem thrived here in isolation, evolving in ways that made this marine biologist swoon. I know, amazing, huh? Inside, you’ll find fish species you won’t see anywhere else, creatures shaped by eons in the dark. Truly, these little swimmers have been keeping it reel all this time! Take your time exploring this ancient marvel. Observe closely, tread lightly, and let yourself be swept away by the sheer wonder of it all. —Kassim

Untapped Potential
Untapped Potential

Isn’t it just lovely? Yet, in the rush for progress, the bioluminescent ivy almost disappeared, surviving only by chance in quiet corners like this. Thanks to careful Loftia science, its hidden potential now helps power our world, fueling the batteries that keep our sustainable ecosystem alive. We still use it carefully, though, so it can regenerate. Take a moment and really appreciate it—it’s a little wonder that reminds us how even the smallest things can do big work. —Love, Hazel

Breath of the World
Breath of the World

Even on Old Earth, we’ve relied on wind power for generations. Old millers understood it: when fuel ran low or supply lines broke, the wind kept turning. Hazel does too, using it to grind grain so we can keep baking bread, no matter what. The wind doesn’t follow schedules, but it is predictable if you plan for it. Build where it flows, maintain your systems, and be patient. These structures may look simple, but they do a critical job: keeping the community fed without burning resources we can’t replace. Reliable. Sustainable. Worth taking care of. The wind can teach us precious lessons. —Amani

Central Lake
Central Lake

The Central Lake of the Hanging Gardens is the heart and gills of the whole district. Every ripple, reed, and wriggling thing in there is part of a delicate, dazzling ecosystem, and I am absolutely hooked on keeping it that way. You’ll spot contribution bins I’ve installed around the shore. Tossing in resources helps us protect water quality, rescue local species, and keep biodiversity swimming along nicely. Every little bit helps: many fins make light work! One small warning, though: try not to fall in. The water is… let’s say biologically enthusiastic. —Kassim

Living with the Land
Living with the Land

There was a time when a little grove like this wouldn’t have lasted a week. Someone would’ve called it “unused land,” cleared it out, poured concrete on top. Back then, the land was something to wrestle into shape. Turns out, the land keeps receipts. Ignore the soil, the water, the roots under your feet, and eventually everything collapses. We’ve learned it the hard way... Here in Loftia, we live in accordance with the land, cherishing places like this so we can thrive along with them. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it here. —Herb

Biodiversity in the Overgrowth
Biodiversity in the Overgrowth

Wow! The Overgrowth is home to such an incredible variety of living things! We’ve discovered new fruits, vegetables, and mushrooms that were not naturally growing in any other environment inside Loftia. Jun and Kun have been able to use these new ingredients to make delicious dishes and I’ve used the nutrient-rich soil to nourish my plants outside of the Overgrowth. Who would have thought that such beauty would be hidden away in this secret little forest? Well, I shouldn’t be surprised. In my experience even the most common plant can have beautiful blooms. — Hazel

Marine Research
Marine Research

The Floating Village serves as our center for marine research and the heart of the fish restoration project. The pond may be human-made, but the life within it is very real. It’s equipped with advanced sensors that allow us to monitor water quality, population health, and ecosystem balance in real time. Structures like this give us a controlled space to observe, protect, and, when necessary, rebuild. If disease spreads or disaster strikes, we’re prepared to help repopulate responsibly. Nature is resilient. We’re just here to lend a careful hand… and make sure nothing slips through the net. — Kassim

Sowing the Seed
Sowing the Seed

The Hanging Gardens is the vibrant green heart of Loftia, teeming with fertile crops, meandering rivers, and ecological restoration. When the district first floated into Loftia, it was already blooming with an impressive ecosystem that we knew would benefit all of us. Everything from the rich soil to the colorful fish gave us useful information about this new world and it has since been our mission to observe and record the details of the wonderful environment around us. Loftia’s most grounded souls tend to wander up here sooner or later. Something about lush vegetation has a way of calling you back to yourself, or at least slowing you down long enough to stop and smell the tomatoes. — Herb
